A: Mahila Sarva Siksha Abhiyan scholarship is an important
initiative of the Indian Embassy.
This scholarship has been instituted to promote higher education to
the Indian girl student in the UAE.
The scholarship aims to support meritorious girl students who have
financial constraints, but are keen to pursue higher education. The
specific objectives are as follows:
Meet the millennium development goals by promoting higher education
Sensitise the community to empower the girl child,
Enhance the enrollment of the girl student in universities, and
Promote the wellbeing of girls.
The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with Manipal
University, Dubai, proposes three annual scholarships for girl
students who have financial constraints, but wish to seek admission
in undergraduate degree-level programmes in the University’s Dubai
campus. The scholarship would entail full fee waiver for the entire
duration of the programme, for one girl student each, in a Bachelor
of Engineering, a BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) and an
Interior Design course. The scholarship will be effective from

One girl per family is eligible to apply for the scholarship.
The family income should be less than Dh 100,000 per annum.
The girl student should secure a minimum aggregate of 80% in HSC/ISC/State
Board or any other Grade 12 qualifying exam.
