•The GDRFA will soon introduce a high-tech service A'aber, or transit which is an electronic system that combine gateway and land borders and will facilitate smoother transit of travellers between land borders of the UAE and Oman, and provide travellers faster access to passport control services.
•The service will work on capturing passengers' information by radio frequency identification by scanning special e-cards used by the passengers while they are just sitting in their vehicles.
•The process of ascertaining all information pertaining to individual travellers will be done at once.
•The system would be based on the registration and issuance of cards that would record the entry and exit of travellers across the land border.
•Passengers using this route need not to get out of their cars for the passport procedures.
•The process will take less than 40 seconds to facilitate an individual's passport control process.
