How can I bring a housemaid from Sri Lanka? An expatriate can sponsor a housemaid if the following conditions are met: Salary: Sponsor's monthly salary should not be less than Dh25,000. Yearly Fees: Sponsor should pay Dh5850 as an annual fee at Immigration Department. Payment through Tadbeer Centre. (every year to be repeated. including typing charge). + Dh303 should be paid at Immigration as file opening fees. + The housemaid and the Sponsor/spouse should not be related + The Sponsor should be a resident in the UAE living with his/her family Age: Sri Lankan maid's age should not be less than 23 years if she comes on maid visa from Sri Lanka. + Medical fitness report from Sri Lanka. This report should be attached with maid visa application. Submit online application through Tadbeer centre. + Application Fee Dh2850 including Dh2000 deposit (If the maid is out of UAE). + If the maid is inside UAE: Dh3500. Below mentioned documents are required. + Maid's and Sponsor's passport copy (colour) + Colour photograph with white background of Maid and Sponsor each. + Original passport of sponsor and spouse (for scanning). + Original Emirates ID of sponsor. + Original attested marriage Certificate of the sponsor with legal translation in Arabic. + Original Labour Contract. You can print it from Typing Centre or MOHRE website. + Original Salary Certificate, if the sponsor is a Government/Semi-government/Free zone Employee. Investor: If the sponsor is an Investor/Partner: Original Court Agreement showing his shareholding, copy of the Trade License and Partners List (for LLC). Tenancy Contract: Original Tenancy Contract consisting of minimum two bedrooms. It has to be attested through Ejari online system of Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA). If you are living out of Dubai, bring Municipality attested Tenancy Contract and Electricity bill. + Original Electricity and Water Bill in the name of applicant or spouse. Affidavit from the Consulate stating that the Maid is not related with the Sponsor and spouse. Separate Affidavit to be made for both Sponsor and spouse. Maid's Visa will be sent to your e-mail within some hours if the attached documents are perfect. Labour Contract (3 copies) will be sent issued along with the Maid Visa and that has to be signed by both the sponsor and Maid at the time of stamping her visa. + You should mention salary of the Maid at the time of typing Entry Permit application at Tadbeer centre. If the Maid is inside UAE on Visit/Tourist Visa, Dh1400 to be paid extra for Status Change (Dh680 to issue visa inside the country and Dh720 for status amendment). In this case no need Sri Lanka Consulate related procedures after get issued the visa. But No Relation Certificate from Consulate is must if the Maid is from same nationality of the Sponsor. This certificate is required at the time of applying for entry visa at Immigration. Maid's Visa will be sent to your e-mail within some hours if the attached documents are perfect. Labour Contract (3 copies) will be sent issued along with the Maid Visa and that has to be signed by both the sponsor and Maid at the time of stamping her visa. + You should mention salary of the Maid at the time of typing Entry Permit application at Tadbeer centre. OTHER CONDITIONS + Working hours of the maid should not exceed 12 hours per day + Air ticket from Sri Lanka to UAE at the time of joining and return after completion of the contract. + After getting issued Maid Visa from Immigration, the following procedures to be completed at Sri Lankan Consulate / Embassy. Documents required at Sri Lankan Consulate / Embassy 1. Sponsor's passport copy. 2. Domestic Worker's passport copy. 3. Duly filled Contract Form with the sponsor's signature. 4. Original visa and two photocopies thereof. 5. Fees Dh185 6. Deposit of Dh3675 (US$1000) by the sponsor for domestic female workers only. This deposit is refundable on termination of the contract of the maid subject to conditions mentioned in the contract. EMIGRATION CLEARANCE + To get Immigration clearance from Sri Lanka, the child (if any) of maid should not be less than six years of age. She has to get clearance letter from the government agent in her Village. Then approach Bureau of Foreign Employment with the clearance letter, Original visa and Employment Contract attested by Sri Lankan Consulate / Embassy, UAE. Documents required for Refund of Security Deposit: You need to approach the Consulate/Embassy only after departure of the Maid 1. Application for refund of Security Deposit 2. Copy of the passport with departure stamp 3. Copy of the Employment Contract 4. Original Cash Receipt 5. Visa cancellation receipt issued from Immigration 6. Copy of the return Air ticket 7. A letter from the employee saying that no dues from the employer (No claim certificate).
